LIVER was founded originally by Claudio Von Statzell and Jeffen "The Wolf" Hickman in 1987. Originally they called themselves the Festering Cowboys and then the Ghetto Bastards. Max Murdok came along in 1989 and the trio recorded "Piping Hot Liver". The recordings became known as the "LIVER" tape and the name stuck. LIVER was the name, the acronym Loud Irritating Vulgar and Extremely Rude came later.
